About Sakura Music Academy

Sakura Music Academy is a premier music school based in Ellicott City, Maryland, offering exceptional private instruction for students of all ages and abilities. The academy combines expert teaching with a supportive, inspiring environment, allowing students to reach their fullest potential.

In addition to private lessons in stringed instruments and voice, we offer audition preparation, college and conservatory advising, and regular performance opportunities through recitals and other events. Our faculty members are dedicated educators as well as active professional performers, bringing a wealth of experience to every lesson.

Lessons are primarily taught in our beautiful academy located on Baltimore National Pike in Ellicott City, Maryland.

Founded by Nana Vaughn

Nana Vaughn is a violinist, violist, educator, and arts administrator whose career has spanned professional performance, teaching, and educational leadership. In addition to performing with major orchestras, she has served as a public school orchestra teacher, youth orchestra director, university instructor, and private teacher. She currently serves as Director of Education & Community Engagement for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.

Vaughn founded Sakura Music Academy to bring together the highest standards of musical excellence and personalized instruction. She takes particular pride in mentoring both young musicians and emerging music educators, helping them build the skills, confidence, and artistry needed to achieve their goals.
